Hair picks are ideal for creating volume at the roots in a variety of ways, including:

- Creating root volume (just use them on the roots of dry hair, don't drag them through your curls)
- You can use two hair picks to push them in and interlock them in your roots (again, to create volume) in damp hair. Allow to air dry or diffuse dry before removing. Instant volume! (Note: this works best on curls of medium to high density - low density curlies would be best using root clips or sectioning clips to create volume)
